Surafel Belew
Chief Executive Officer
Surafel Belew built his career the hard way—through hands-on problem solving, long nights supporting mission-critical systems, and a deep belief that technology should make people’s jobs easier, not harder. After spending more than 20 years designing and leading complex IT and HRIT solutions across government and enterprise environments, he noticed a pattern: many federal projects struggled not because of technology, but because of a lack of accountability, empathy, and honest technical leadership.
In 2019, he created BVB Tech to change that.
Having served as a Chief Architect at IBM and as a long-time PeopleSoft and enterprise systems expert, Surafel saw firsthand how transformative the right technical approach could be—and how costly it was when integrity was missing. He founded BVB Tech with a simple mission: deliver high-quality, transparent, and mission-focused technology consulting that federal agencies could trust.
From the early days of BVB Tech, Surafel has been deeply involved in every aspect of the company’s growth—from shaping technical strategy and leading federal HRIT programs, to mentoring consultants and building long-term relationships with DoD and civilian customers. His leadership style is grounded in humility and clarity: understand the mission, communicate honestly, and deliver work that speaks for itself.
But what truly drives him is impact.
Surafel believes that technology should empower the workforce, streamline operations, and help federal agencies serve people better. BVB Tech is the result of that belief—a company built on trust, expertise, and the determination to always do the right thing for the customer.
Today, as Managing Principal, Surafel continues to guide BVB Tech’s vision while supporting mission-critical implementations across federal environments. His journey—from hands-on developer to architect to founder—shapes the company’s culture and ensures that every project reflects the same values BVB Tech was built on: honesty, quality, and service.
